How to cut MKV on Mac with Mac MKV Cutter for Snow Leopard

MKV (The Matroska Multimedia Container) is an open standard free container format, a file format that can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture or subtitle tracks inside a single file. It is intended to serve as a universal format for storing common multimedia content, like movies or TV shows. Matroska is similar in concept to other containers like AVI, MP4 or ASF, but is entirely open in specification, with implementations consisting mostly of open source software. Matroska file types are .MKV for video (with subtitles and audio), .MKA for audio-only files and .MKS for subtitles only.

Q1: Convert .mkv for Xbox 360

I’m sure a few of us in this forum own a 360, have any of you managed to play any REAL HD content without purchasing the HD-DVD player or converting your .mkv’s to .wmv’s

I’ve noticed that if i download a 1080p trailer from apple.com/trailers in .mov format it works FLAWLESSLY, perfect image and audio. Is there a (quick) way to convert a .mkv to .mov and have it play perfectly with no hitch, on the 360.

Q2: MKV Splitter? please read and help

Ok, so i use visualhub for all my HIDeF/Bluray MKV conversion. But i’m sick of the 4 gig limit. I’d like a littler better quality.

So my question is, does anyone know of any mkv splitter so i can split the file in to, so i can convert it so it’s 2 4gig parts? so the quality doesnt suffer?

Luckily, a friend of mine recommended me a MKV Cutter Mac which he tried very great. I download the free trial and found it’s very easy to use, and cut/split your large or long MKV files to small parts or segments so that you can send them through email or burn them DVD or CD to share with your friends or family members. Then I bought it without any hesitating. If you have the same problem with me, maybe you can try it. Learn the details about how to cut MKV on Mac! Hope to help you.
